History of PenygelliLocated just over the Welsh border in Powys, Newtown is the perfect location for exploring Mid Wales. We're rural, but not too rural that you can still walk to and from Newtown - but just be aware of the steep hill on the way back! We're only 1 mile from the town centre of Newtown and 1/4 mile from the nearest supermarket.
Penygelli has been owned by Zoes family since the 1960's, bought by her grandmother and grandfather when it was originally a working farm. Her grandparents ran Penygelli as a B&B up until the late 70's when Zoes mother and father moved back to the area to start their family and who also ran Penygelli as a B&B when Zoe and her sisters were younger. In 2010 Zoe (like a salmon) also came home to breed and her and Phil set up the 2 serviced apartments. Although the apartments are in the main house they are fully self contained and are located on the top floor. We're here for you every step of the way at Penygelli, and we're always available to lend a hand. But don't worry, we understand the importance of privacy and will make sure to respect yours throughout your stay. Zoe & Phil |
